Trestle Community Management announced today that two of its Community Managers have elevated their professional credentials to Association Management Specialist (AMS®) as awarded by the Community Associations Institute (CAI). All Trestle Community Managers are now AMS certified demonstrating Trestle’s commitment to providing the highest quality knowledge, skill and professionalism possible to Clients.

Stephanie Brencic, Senior Community Manager, and Blair Rondeau, Senior Community Manager, earned their Association Management Specialist certificate joining an elite group of 6,000 managers worldwide who have earned this prestigious designation. The AMS designation recognizes ongoing professional development and industry expertise for community managers.   AMS designees must pass the difficult Certified Manager of Community Associations exam, administered by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM). They must have at least two years of verified association management experience and successfully completed more than 16 hours of advanced specialized instruction. They must also comply with CAI’s Professional Manager Code of Ethics. To maintain the AMS designation, they must meet continuing education requirements to remain current in industry-related matters.

In its 2013 industry survey, CAI found that more than 90% of community association board members would prefer to hire a community manager who has the required education and experience to earn professional credentials. Board members have fiduciary responsibilities that compel them to make decisions that can have profound financial and social impacts on their communities. To help ensure they have the expert and professional guidance necessary to manage communities most effectively, Trestle Community Management continually invests in improving the skills and abilities of our Community Managers, and to earn credentials awarded by CAI.

Professional managers provide administrative, operational and managerial counsel to the boards that govern homeowners and condominium associations. Managers typically are responsible for managing budgets and contractors, directing association personnel and overseeing compliance with association covenants and restrictions.

In addition to earning an AMS certification, Stephanie Brencic holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Central Washington University.

CAI and its 60 chapters work on behalf of the professionals and volunteers engaged in the management and governance of homeowner and condominium associations, cooperatives and other planned communities. CAI’s nearly 32,000 members include community association volunteer leaders, managers, management companies and businesses that provide products and services to these communities.
